Rediscovering the Meaning of Life with a Spiritual Goal

It is important to set clear goals and to know what we want to achieve, because if we are confused it will be difficult to attain them. That the world today is confused is hardly in doubt, and it is an objective fact that the media circuit contributes greatly to clouding people’s minds, while political parties and large corporations show no real concern for the true well-being of individuals. That the logic of money, the economic power of banks, and the entire monetary system govern the world above the heads of politicians is also a well-known reality.

If we were to depend on socio-political structures to understand the purpose of existence, we would remain far from our true objective of inquiry. Fortunately, authentic traditions and the teachings of the Masters reveal it to us and illuminate the path.

The reality of the self, of the soul, emerges at every turn. It is not easy to grasp, yet at the same time it is impossible to suppress. The best of our time and resources should be placed in service of what we hold at the very top of our priorities.

If above all we put spiritual inquiry, illumination, and freedom from the fear of death, we will attain the goal of a complete and all-encompassing realization of the divine within the human being, experiencing here and now a sense of the true Self—authentic and coherent—an alignment of values, behaviors, and projects that rises far beyond the fog of conditioning imposed by a confused and fragmented worldly life.
